My dad was at the Detroit Auto Show today and posted these pictures on Facebook..

Semi-Auto* they are not too bad nowadays, just whack it over to the manual mode and use the flappy paddles, guarantee it'll change gear quicker than you could also means you can keep your hands on the wheel for pure flat out driving

This always reminds me of motorcycle shift patterns, which I always thought were backwards as well. Accelerating should be a down-press of the foot for the next higher gear, and decelerating into a corner should be an up-press for lower gears. Accelerating and then pulling up my foot always felt odd.
